standards
alpha climbing uses its own proprietary system for safety since there is no established comprehensive safety protocol for sport climbing, bouldering, and deep water soloing. Instead of adhering to standards not reflecting the specific needs of our activities and participants, we've decided to make our own, based on current professional standards and preferred equipment. We feel that this ultimately provides the best experience for our athletes and staff. This also gives us the best ability to adapt to new equipment and to avoid sticking with "the doctrine of the day," which might not be the safest or most appropriate method.
Our programs are not “learn-to-climb,” “one-on-one guiding,” or for beginners. For each program, a base level of skill and experienced must be established in order to participate. During all of our trips and camps, our group works together to support individual agendas, including those of our mentors.
